Some years ago now I made several custom search engines using Google Co-op. Co-op lets people collaborate on improving search by filtering Google results.
I dusted this one down, and found that things had improved somewhat, e.g. ‘search suggest’ is uncannily useful right from the first letter. Weegreen filters a hundred or so sites, so should be more relevant.
So by filtering the amount of guff right from the word go, this little engine will not only help green your shopping, but possibly, save the planet.
Anyone who’d like to help manage ‘the list’ is welcome to get in touch to weed out / prune rogue entries, that must have slipped in.
e.g. sites that promote themselves as ‘local’, but are actually based on the other side of the planet will get dropped. I wonder why Google lets them away with this? I hasten to point out this is site is not intended to be strictly local, just relevant, but wouldn’t it be interesting if local search actually worked …
